Biography

Holy Goof, a DJ/producer has emerged as one of the UK's most promising newcomers over the last 12 months and is already backed by the likes of Flava D, DJ Q and My Nu Leng. His sound — a fluid, bass-house hybrid referencing everything from bassline to grime — is squarely tilted at the club, with notable appearances at fabric, Detonate and bass festivals like Nass and Sidewinder suggesting it's an arena he's ready to really make his name in.

With a slew of guest mixes across BBC 1Xtra, Kiss FM and Rinse FM also under his belt, Holy Goof recently saw a track signed to Flava D's inaugural Fabriclive compilation — complete with an accompanying video — and his solo production work continues to earn significant support across national radio.

Coventry, England's Holy Goof produces and spins an exuberant, adrenaline-spiked mix of bassline house, garage, grime, and other styles of bass-heavy British dance music. As a youth, he was raised on hip-hop, and eventually became enraptured by the hard yet funky side of the U.K. dance scene. During his teenage years, he balanced music production and DJ'ing with his championship-winning amateur boxing hobby, even selling his music equipment and turntables at one point. Eventually he quit boxing, however, and resumed his music career, making appropriately punchy tracks with fast, galloping beats and heavy bass drops. Several EPs appeared on labels such as Certified Bangers and Party Like Us Records in 2015, and Holy Goof's tunes gained support from top bassline/garage DJs such as Flava D and Royal T. In 2016, he played in London for the first time, and several high-profile gigs following, including appearances at Boiler Room and Brixton Academy. "Push It," a collaboration with U.K. bass legend DJ Zinc, appeared on Bingo Bass in 2017, and Holy Goof began releasing tracks on his own HGMusic. Having previously appeared on Fabriclive mixes by My Nu Leng and Flava D, Holy Goof mixed Fabriclive 97, which was released in March of 2018.
