Missed out on their latest record, it was fine, Flesh & Bone would always be my favorite record from them.

As much as I understand that they turned into a typical revival band with edgy 'darkness' around and loud synths, they still do have an amazing and catchy melody and funny Scandinavian vibes all over. Also it hurts me that Surrender is so terribly overlooked, it is definitely not the "all killer no filler" type, but at least as good as Forever or even better in some places.

The synth is there but more for textural effect now, so it's less up front in the mix...the new album does sound very different because of it. I'm more of a guitar fiend so the new sound works better for me but I really adore both albums...Saw them at the tail-end of the north american tour last month and they were great. Really energetic and they were great guys to boot.

Ok, so Portland show fell through for me but....wait for it....I found a cheap flight to Vegas from Montana and will rent a car to go see'em in San Diego and Santa Ana. THAT is sweet. Get in touch if you're going. I am no longer a threat to society, the judge said so!

Love the new album!!!!! I think it's a bit more reigned-in than the debut, so loving them both for very different reasons. Will be in Europe for the next month, was really hoping I might catch them live but not looking good for me...still, at least will be in my playlist! :)

the new record is pretty solid, but honestly I don't see it as an improvement over the band's self-titled. I think Holograms' debut album was way more passionate and captivating. still, the guys gotta be my favorite post-punk revivalists at the moment:)
