Hocico is a Mexican band, commonly placed in the subgenre. The band was officially formed in Mexico City, Mexico in 1993 by Erk Aicrag (lyrics & vocals) and Racso Agroyam (programming), but both cousins had been making electronic music since they were fifteen years old. The names are anagrams of the real names Erik Garcia and Oscar Mayorga.

Their music can be described as dark and aggressive electronica or more specifically as . The lyrics are commonly in English, however, they are sometimes in Spanish.
