Yeah, I noticed that influence and it didn't bother me, thanks to the atmosphere that Herbst9 has. I detest the concept and atmosphere of martial industrial, not its techniques. I did make that kind of music myself around 2001/2002 so my close-mindedness does not come from from lack of experience. That being said, there are probably lots of great bands I haven't heard... same goes for a bunch of extreme and mainstream genres, but who cares.

Hey now, don't be insulting to Martial Industrial. There are some fantastic artists that produce music within the genre. There's also a touch of its influence to Herbst 9's sound for example in Napissunu Mutumma.

Huh, can't believe I never listened to this before. Very dark and cosy. For some reason I always thought this was one of those shitty martial industrial bands.

Usumgal Kalamma may have become one of my all time favourite albums to listen to. Getting familiar with its every nuance was and still is very rewarding, and working/writing to this music is nothing short of bliss. I cannot wait to hear what they release next.

The new album is the crowning achievement of Herbst9. All their previous works were a build up to this. Total perfection. [3]

I did not like the highly praised "Buried Under Time and Sand", but Ušumgal Kalamma seems to be a really nice release.
