Heinz Funk is a German film composer and electronic music pioneer.
Funk graduated from Städtischen Musikschule in Trossingen, Germany. He was trained as a sound engineer and a skilled accordion player and helped found the Deutsche Akkordeon Meisterorchester along with fellow student Walter Girnatis.
Funk was hired by Jürgen Roland and brought to the film industry in the 1960s and gained a reputation as a composer of numerous music for feature films, documentaries, television programs and commercials. He is founder and partner of Studio Funk with branches in Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf for the production of music for audio-visual media of all kinds.
