I haven't listened to them yet, so I don't know whether they're good or not. I'll get to the modern one at some point, maybe today.

I was lucky to catch the Hawklords tour in 78. I think Brock envisaged a sabbatical from Hawkwind but really the project was integral to the band's development. One can only wonder what further ouput the band was capable of had Calvert's breakdown not precipitated the break up of Hawklords. It was never really the same after that...

Been a Hawkwind fanatic since mid 70's ... Dave Brocks resistance to the musical exploration of previous band members led them to the sack. This stifled creativity and progression ... The albums Astounding Sounds and Quark were the next direction for Hawkwind yet Brock stamped his authority and sacked Nik Turner .. The result was the collapse of old Hawkwind and from the ashes were born Hawklords with Brock and Calvert at thier brilliant best in collaberation ... Calvert was a musical, theatrical genius whose intellectual and artistic temperament made him an enigma. I met him before he sadly passed away and enjoyed his company and his advice concerning my dabble with electronic music. Sonic Assassins was the progression from Hawklords to Hawkwind reforming in 1979 and the whole thing started all over again with Brock at the helm of Spaceship Hawkwind ... not forgetting the album PXR5 ...
