Don't know what this band is anymore, but it's not black metal, that's for sure.

When I got into blackgaze/post black metal seriously in 2020, these guys became a standout for me for a more caustic and yet depressive side of music that that I have sorely missed out on. Whenever I'm down and feeling bleak and shit...and it happens alot, I can always count on their songs to vent and let loose a bit. Truly grateful for having them around. I hope one day to go to one of their shows.

While making your albums that long is a risky move, i'd like to say that Mære is a great album and it doesn't get boring or repetitive - at least for me, regardless it's length.

If you aren't into "blackgaze" or "post-black metal" you're not likely to have a good time here, regardless of perceived "musical depth" or your band style name preferences.

So it's no strange for you HFTS knowing all her political views still ask this "shit person" to sing with them? If these harakiri boys are so political TRVE, so they should even did not think to offer Audrey this collab. I mean, your political statement is absolutely nothing if you are still want to collab with post-black metal goddess and act like a crybabies after some shitty opinions from "community"

This far, it's alright. Arson is in my opinion their weakest album. This one is pretty stable like Trauma. Still, I by far prefer the more hardcore influenced stuff over the melo death sort. There aren't many bands that sound like they do on Aokigahara, but this sounds more like Insomnium with screamo vocals and it isn't far enough in the margin for me. I've heard hundreds of good albums that are akin to this sonically. They're still good, but I wouldn't call them memorable. Not one of those MY albums. Not something that would leave a mark or something I would return to. Not worth a patch in my vest. Might be different to the people who hopped on around Trauma, but I'm an early fan who was just trying to find more depressing stuff than Torn Beyond Reason and To Lay Like Old Ashes nearly a decade ago. I like the rawness of the early stuff. At least the album doesn't suck like most of the older bands' stuff coming out now that was thematically and sonically like this 15 years ago.

And Oceans Between Us… This song reminds me about the period when I was reading the lyrics with listening to the music at the same time. It was a long ago. The lyrics of this song relates to me very much, to my lifetime problem of now. I’m divorcing with my wife right now, it's the very hard time for me. But the songs and the lyrics like this one make me feel some inner strength, some feel of support, I appreciate this. Thanks Harakiri for the Sky, so much love to yours music!

Mære словно путешествие в интенсивную меланхолию, где кульминацией становятся парящие риффы, которые ни разу не паразитируют бессмысленным повторением, чем страдают около-шугейз и пост-блэковые огороды.

New song sounds gay like Alcest... I hope they don't go by this way (which is saturated by bands who simply copy Alcest's music style).

So they cancel Audrey cause of Peste Noire but a feature with Neige (ex Drummer of Peste Noire) is okay? Sounds absolutely cool and normal to me.

Nah seriously they should have given a shit on what people say. She is not even a part of the band anymore.

Well yeah I'm actually buying that at this time he just wanted to make some music but at the same time the "I don't know what it was about" seems a bit fishy. He probably just didn't care

It's a good album, but the first 2 albums have a more fitting production. Fits the music better thematically. Too clean on the newer ones, which kinda ruins what the 2 first ones have going on. The 2 first albums have a production that you could have in a DSMB project, while the 2 latest ones have this melodeath production. I'd much rather have that slightly claustrophobic production, 'cause J.J.'s vocals aren't that amazing outside of the screaming stuff. The second album IMHO is the best. It also has the most intresting lyrics, but I suspect those are partly co-written with the featured artists, who might be slightly better wordsmiths. The first one and the third one are tied. The third one is a very strong album overall. It's got a pretty good flow and doesn't really have any filler tracks. Still dislike the production. Musically the only down side is actually that it is 1 track too long for cohesion. The album practically has 2 ending tracks, so feels more like a bonus track.

And by it I mean Trauma as I've not heard the unreleased one yet. Either way I hope it is better than Arson, which to me is pretty much just Heroin Waltz and a bit of The Graves We've Dug.

New song is a bit different on it's production and I was expecting that it would be somewhat heavier, but it's a pretty good song anyway. Expecting for a new album soon.

Wish they were rougher though. More of the stuff like the screaming passage in My Bones to the Sea.

I like their music, not really a fan of them tho. But what the fuck is harakiri for the sky?!? And the edgy lyrics make it hard to keep it up with the music. I suppose, Karg is a better project.

Idea and the philosophy of desperation this very genre (which they're musically good at that) involves does not quitely fit in. At some point, it sounds even ridiculous.

I think they should go fully or mostly instrumental since vocals do not add anything interesting at all. No rhyme, not a good scream tone. Their melodic song structures are quite good and that is the side that they should bring forth. And mixing is horse garbage. It has always been like that since Aokigahara and even before. They definitely should find another guy to mix their music. They have very good potential but seems it is being wasted by these problems.

I don't envy people who listen to music for the sake of it to sound technically good :/

Sounds fucking awesome to me, and I can be disturbed by the production in music sometimes. It depends on the genre. Genres/Subgenres close to Black Metal can get away with lower production quality than Pop or Thrash Metal imo.
