they should have let TVT remix it for radio like they'd wanted. the radio mix is good. it would've been an adult contemporary hit. GBV would've become the most interesting one-hit wonder of all time

When hardcore GbV fans reject this song, they are usually being petty children. I don't give a shit that Pollard himself distances from it -- it's a class pop song. I've heard nearly every damned thing this group has ever produced, and I still love this thing.

While not a terrible song Pollard has been quoted that he regrets releasing it. Probably because it's one of the few songs that ever gets played on TV (he's probably prouder of other stuff). Although HIMYM used "Glad Girls" at one point so that was cool to hear.

Robert Pollard is sort of a bro, so it was only inevitable that he would write a song like this.

Happy to see this sliding down the charts. Making room for the real shit. No, it's not a horrible song, but GBV deserves better representation.

there's about 5 or 6 songs on Do The Collapse that are honestly great (Hold On Hope isn't one of them). Surgical Focus, Wormhole, Things I Will Keep, Teenage FBI, and Wrecking Now are all classic GBV

is there another song on this album that's worth listening to? this is awesome, but bee thousand and alien lanes are such solid albums, do the collapse doesn't seem that way.

Jaja: glattgebügeltes Major-Album. Sie sind ja dann auch gleich zurück zu Matador und Co. Trotzdem mag ich die Platte und diesen Song sehr.

GBV should have deserved a "hit" in their lifetime, and this was the closest they did get. But no, and maybe it is why Bob hates this tune. I like it anyways. And Bob did also wrote 1000 worser songs than this.

One of those tunes I heard in the background and said " Who the hell is that !?" Same way I fell in love The Stereophonics "Maybe Tomorrow", in the closing credits for the movie "Crash". Check it out !!!
