Ok, let’s start. It feels that Green Day finally started to actually care about their music and that Billie started to care about what he writes and sings about. The lyrics are much better and they were more creative regards the sound, melodies, and EVEN THOUGH there are some reminiscences of 21st Century Breakdown (Living in the 20’s is Horseshoes and Handgrenades sister), the Trilogy, RevRad (I feel that Corvette Summer is in the same universe as Bouncing on The Wall), it still sounds REfreshing because the songs are actually good. I LOVED Bobby Sox because I love when Green Day goes Weezer, ‘cause when they do it, they’re a better Weezer then Weezer (does that make sense? In my head it does), anyways. LOVED the song title too and Fancy Sauce, perfect sing-along anthems. 1981 sounds even better on studio, there are layers that we can’t notice live. No skips. Fun album. Liked it very much and I feel it’s gonna grow on me even more.
