Great Lake Swimmers are a Canadian indie rock band. Built around the melodic folk rock songs of singer-songwriter Tony Dekker, the band also includes, Erik Arneson on banjo, and Colin Huebert on drums.

The band’s style has been compared to Red House Painters, Nick Drake, Gram Parsons and Neil Young.

I really hope that the newest album isn't the beginning of the end for one of my favourite bands. It just doesn't have the real magic and emotion of the first two, two of the greatest albums of all time.

i'll always love great lake swimmers and the new album is pretty nice, too.. just wish the lead singer wasn't so... eh. self absorbed seeming? haha. also, lots of gls songs remind me of my ex too.. such nostalgic music for that sorta thing, especially their older stuff from bodies and minds and the first self titled album.
