Not my favourite vocals either, but Infernus was already so good on this album, and Samoth on bass is just a lovely little bonus.

People hating on this album are missing out, hat's screeching makes it worth a listen if nothing else

@Razor-Fist - Watched the video you linked, fucking sick show, but do you have any idea why they're playing Heimdallr by Enslaved in the beginning? That confuses the fuck out of me, I understand that they played their first show with Enslaved, and i think they also played a few more around that period of time, but why they would be playing their song is strange to me.

Aserihclem - The vocals weren't pitch-shifted. There's live footage of Hat singing in the exact same register: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mIP0402huw Pitch-shifting? In 1993? In a four-track recording studio? That's rich.

the vocals are inhuman because they have been pitch shifted. but that doesnt matter because this album and the vocals are just perfect black metal. deff there best album all because of hat and infernus.

Gorgoroth's best album, and Hat is easily the best singer Gorgoroth has ever had. [2]

@ahenathon Even though I was a black metal noob at the time, I still think the vocals are among the most inhuman and evil sounding shit ever recorded ^^
