Biography
Getúlio Cavalcante Leite Filho, known by his stage name Getúlio Abelha, is a Brazilian singer, composer and actor, born in Piauí and based in Fortaleza, Ceará.
Abelha began to rise on the local music scene in 2017 and has been advancing across the country like a trail of fire – colorful – that carries within itself all the colors of Brazilian musical diversity. Their sound moves freely between traditional forró, pop (with a punk attitude) and electronic music, with clear influences ranging from the band Calcinha Preta to David Bowie. Current issues, politics, bodies, gender and criticism of conservatism are present through the artist's music, dance, costumes and audiovisual. His first studio album "Marmota" is scheduled to be released in 2021.
