He returned to the classic Geotic style with this album, which is awesome to see. I always thought the recent albums, although good, were more Baths than Geotic regardless of what Will tells about the difference between the two projects.

He did, although he also put out Oxperls since Traversa as well which is so beautiful! I know a lot of people feel the same way as you about the whole Baths/Geotic thing. Personally it never bothered me that Will put out Abysma and Traversa under Geotic. I think it was a good call - I don't think they'd have felt right as Baths releases. I'm not sure I can put my finger on why exactly, just a feeling. It's all great music anyways!

I think Abysma has sneakily become one of my fave albums like, ever? It's low-key but so beautiful, crisp and comfy to put on, I can just listen to it on repeat. It's a great album for all different kind of moods. Got stuck listening to it on loop earlier this year, it was like the only thing I could listen to.

When i was younger and had the energy to go to concerts, i met this guy, we made out, he was way older, but very handsome, that was what... around 2010, at an electronic gig and he told me about geotic. By that time i already knew baths front works. Well i got home and looked it up on the internet and i really didnt get it! i dont know, it wasnt my vibe i suppose back then. then now 2021, some days ago i caught myself relistening to [post-foetus] and took a time to relisten to some of his early stuff as geotic, and im sort of mindblown... very genuine work, feels humble at heart. Super happy to go biking listening to mend, and duchenne smile albums!

Geotic was originally Will’s ambient moniker. Listen to his older stuff and you’ll see.

Really glad that he decided to bring back the geotic moniker and the sound to go with it

I am surprised that Abysma was released as Geotic instead of Baths or [post-foetus] as it swerves away from the ambient theme that has been Geotic's trademark imprint among Will's aliases. Was it because of the mostly instrumental 4x4 structures? A fantastic album nevertheless.

I think it's too fell-good relaxed for Baths, Baths record will be a lot more depressing

Romaplasm is out and is far from depressing, haha The only "depressing" Baths album was Obsidian, and that because of the personal struggles Will was going through by that time. Looks like he got over that phase.

I don't think it would go over well as a Baths album, his work as Baths has been more dynamic and less atmospheric. Seems like a good fit to me. Also I don't get the impression that he has any plans to ever resurrect post-foetus. Might as well just start up a new moniker at that point, it would be going back so far to something few people ever knew about to begin with.

New record is like a new great Baths record i've been waiting for. How great it is to know that the real Baths record is yet to come

his guitar-centric work (a la Morning Shore) is like a more serene [artist]Mark McGuire[/artist] (if that's even possible)
