Biography

Galinha Pintadinha is a children's project created by producers Juliano Prado and Marcos Luporini. 

In 28 of December of 2006, the duo decided to add a children's entertainment on the website YouTube for presentation to some producers of a children's channel of São Paulo, because they would not have to attend the meeting. Executives didn't approve of the video and the initial idea didn't stick. But six months later, the pair, who had not removed the video from the website, realized that the number of views was quite expressive, around 500,000.

Realizing the possibility of success, the project then went ahead with the creation of the DVD Galinha Pintadinha e Sua Turma , which featured 2D animations with children's characters and songs in the public domain. The audio included songs from several generations, such as "A Barata", "Indiozinhos", "Escravos de Jó" and "Marcha Soldado". 

In 2010, with the support of Som Livre, the team created the second DVD, entitled Galinha Pintadinha 2. The DVD also included classic songs, such as "Atirei o pau no gato", "Alecrim Dourado", "Sapo Cururu" and "Se Essa Rua Fosse Minha". In the first month, more than 100,000 copies were sold, which guaranteed the award with a double platinum record. 

Until 2015, the brand is in the 89th position in the world among the 150 licensed brands that earn the most in the world, appearing in Forbes Brasil. 

In the ranking created by the ABPD for the Brazilian music market, the second DVD of the project was the sixth best-selling DVD in 2010, and the 17th best seller in 2011. 

With the success of DVDs, in recent times the project has also focused on selling other products such as plush toys, games, books and smartphone apps. 

In addition to the playful show Galinha Pintadinha Official Tour, the project also reached the stage of musicals, with Galinha Pintadinha: O Musical. Ernesto Piccolo is directed by Ernesto Piccolo, who has already been nominated twice for the Shell Award.

Today, the video that started it all has been seen over 450 million times. The official website shows that the number of total views on YouTube exceeds 7,000,000,000 (7 billion), the first Brazilian channel to reach this goal. The team also discloses that more than 450,000 official DVDs have already been sold, which resulted in the receipt of two triple platinum discs. 

The project's success made him receive a parody of his in the comedic program of Rede Globo Tá no Ar: TV on TV in 2015, Galinha Preta Pintadinha. In November 2016, she was nominated as one of the finalists in the Children's Television category. 

In March 2018, it was announced that the franchise channel had reached more than 100 million views and that there is a project for a television program.
