I got the chance to watch them with Jon as lead guitarist on their final tour back then, it was in Oslo. They were my younger emo kid's bottle of Xanax. I have so much merch and even bought the Penny Black full bundle. I was pumped. In retrospect, I remember I wanted to see "The Moon Is Down"-FSF, but now.. I'm glad I met Jon! Influential and very kind man. Tragic passing! I'll tribute my favourites, I'll choose one song from each one of the four albums. 1. New Year's Project from The Moon Is Down 2. On Legendary from How To Start A Fire 3. Make It A Part from Hide Nothing 4. Rusted Machines from Penny Black

I'm so terribly sorry 🙏. OF COURSE. Lead Vocalist. I was thinking of the fact I met Derick, which was the lead guitarist on that tour.

Hide nothing is without a doubt their best work. The dude from sense field did such a great job as a vocalist.

Was under the impression the vocals were produced like it for effect and not as simple auto-tune. Could be wrong... weird if it is.

Jon Bunch was the best FSF vocalist. Hide Nothing is way better than the new album.

RE Penny Black: I would love to be able to listen to this record because musically, it's great. But I can't get past the ridiculous vocal effects. The whole point of Chris' voice is that it doesn't need autotune. Can you imagine early dashboard with Autotune?! The point was that everyone could sing along and it didn't even matter if you were in tune or not. It sounds absolutely shocking on this record. Really, really disappointed and I can see I'm certainly not the only one. Please release a version without autotune. Please.

The first new album involving Chris that I've enjoyed in quite a while. This is where he belongs. Dashboard has run its course.

This album took a minute to grow on me, but now I love just about every song. I agree with everyone about the production, but I have decided to look past that and see that these are really great songs and more than worth waiting for. For me, nothing beats these 5 guys playing music together (no offense to Derick Cordoba, Jason Gleason and Jon Bunch). This band will always mean more to me than any other band.

glad it's not just me who isn't a fan of the production on this album. vocals get so drowned in the mix it almost sounds like they accidentally released demo versions.

the guitar style has changed (much less in the way of mid-90s emo)... but the hooks are rich. not sure what's up with the auto-tune... Chris doesn't need it. lazy production at times, but a satisfying return by FSF :D

alexbigman: Definitely! Damn shame they pussed out, it is the best song on "Penny Black".. but hey! You got to see FSF!! :-) I dream of they day I get to see Further Seems Forever original band, first time I saw FSF it was with Jon and the drummer had to go back to US so it was acoustic. -.- Some random dude stepped up and played drums on "The Sound" though.. Pretty cool.

I'm extremely hardcore fan of FSF and ordered the mega bundle of course. They're one of the three most important bands in my life, ever. I don't like the production either, it's too much entwined. Anyhow, my favourite is Rusted Machines! Amazingly wonderful song. When the chorus came... It appeared, on my face.. A HUGE SMILE. "Rest yourself at ease, my little giiiiiiiiiiiiiiirl! These troubles will bind us at our souls, like rusted machines." THERE THEY WERE. FURTHER SEEMS FOREVER WTH CHRIS CARRABBA. And now it's definitely one of my favourite songs of Further Seems Forever, but with the exception of "So Cold", "Rusted Machine" and the amazing "Janie" I had to grow myself into the album, but I needed to do the same with the others as well. But once I've grown into their albums I automatically fall in love again and again. They have that impact on me.

Penny Black is fantastic, I didn't listen to them before, but this album got me interested! I'm a fan of Dashboard and as a "heavier version", FSF work very well. :)

i'm a diehard moon is down fan and just got my penny black pre-order...this record is good but seriously the production is HORRIBLE. The guitars and vocals are sooooo drowned in the mix(two of the things that stands out on TMID) i'm still stoked for the show in san francisco on friday but god damn this mix sucks!!!!!
