2640 is the third album from Italian singer-songwriter Francesca Michielin. It was released on 12 January 2018. The album was preceded by two singles: 'Vulcano' (Volcano), released 21 July 2017, and 'Io non abito al mare' (I Don't Live by the Sea), released 17 November 2017. 2640 debuted at number 2 on the Italian album chart, Michielin's highest every position.

2640's release date was revealed on Italian talk show 'Che tempo che fa' by Michielin on 1 October 2017. The cover and title were revealed on 4 December 2017. Michielin has revealed that '2640' was chosen as the title as it is the elevation of Bogota, Colombia in metres. The desire to escape to Bogota
was an inspiration for the album.

2640 contains thirteen tracks, the titles of which were revealed on Michielin's social media sites on 20 December 2017. The album became available to pre-order on 21 December 2017 with track 5 'Tropicale' (Tropical) available to download immediately.

It was announced in January 2018 that Francesca Michielin was working with Treedom to plant a forest in Kenya. A new tree was planted for every 200,000 streams. As of June 2018, 276 trees have been planted.

The first single, 'Vulcano' went platinum in Michielin's home country of Italy and peaked at number 44 on the Italian singles chart. As of June 2018, the music video has over 19 million views on YouTube.

The second single, 'Io non abito al mare' also went platinum in Italy and peaked at number 15 on the Italian singles chart. A music video was released on 20 November 2017 and, as of June 2018, it has over 14.9 million views.

'Bolivia' was released as the third single on 16 March 2018. A music video was released to Michielin's official YouTube channel on 20 March 2018. As of June 2018, the video has over 4.1 million views.

'Tropicale' was released as the fourth single on 15 June 2018, along with a music video.
