v thanks. But it still strikes me as odd. How is "+i and alt+d (on most EU-keyboards at least) so much of a hassle? For instance: are we expected to rename Månegarm to just Manegarm? Týr to Tyr? etc. I for one prefer the "original" name with the """special""" characters, who do their work just fine and actually make the names easier to pronounce...

You're correct I guess, as I'd also go for the original spelling - but unfortunately we cannot control that from sources like Spotify. Maybe hitting the misspell button on this page?

I asked them on FB about the name and this is what they replied to me: Here's how it goes... Fortíð is the original name and is Icelandic. Fortid is the Norwegian version of the same name. Same meaning, just changed location from Iceland to Norway. Our logo says Fortíð. But online at least (and especially when for writing without the special Icelandic characters), we are sticking to Fortid. There is no right or wrong here basically but regarding LastFM, we would prefer Fortid since that's the one people mostly search for. Thanks for your interest and support! E. Thorberg

I own their CDs, all 3. And the fact I dodn't scrobble here has got nothing to do with it, kid. Look at the freaking bio on their myspace and read what I wrote in the correct artist's page shoutbox. And this account was created waaaay before you started acting up actually. And why are you even getting personal? Can't take it someone demolishes your argumentation? Once again: alt+d = ð. Everyone feel free to update your tags for this amazing band!

Maxx00r has zero plays on LastFM. Further, his comprehension of the band and label's wishes is false. Read my post below. The correct spelling is FORTID if he would bother to check No Colours Records or the CD itself. Apparently Maxx00r's LastFM account was created for the sole purpose of being an anonomous jackass. You fail at logic and you fail at life.

@ holyrebels, most keyboards don't have easy accessible "ð"s etc. Månegarm is also often typeset Manegarm because non-scandinavian keyboards don't have a "å", but that doesn't change the fact they're still called Månegarm. Fortid -> Fortíð. Fortid doesn't sound the same as Fortíð after all. And with mp3Tag, changing tags is a piece of cake. Also, Capital ð looks almost the same as capital d. Ð vs D. The correct spelling is used quite often if you check google. So I am in favour of changing all tags.

As I saw, the real band's name means 'past', so it's 'Fortíð'. No need to complicate too much. :)

Changing the tags and spelling makes it harder to find this band and does them a disservice. No Colours Records lists their name as "Fortid". The new album lists their name as "Fortid". The official Myspace page lists their name as "Fortid".

Everyone: Please change tags to "Fortíð"! That's the correct bandname after all ;)

Oh well, I've changed it to the proper Fortið tag, so it'll still take a while to get in my top 50.

How do you manage to be on so many of these? Though I suppose this time it makes sense as you suggested it to me, listening to it now.
