Life changes, bands change, get over it haha. They are still a good band, just in another genre. The album is a quality stuff.

support them trying to break out of the metalcore touring circuit - that well dries up after a while. sucks it looks like it didn't pay off based on the plays, though. hope that changes for them.

not sure that the down-tuned post-grunge touring circuit would've been much better

Another band that totally sold out. Just a shadow of what they once were. Last good album was Backburner.

Yes it's a great contemporary modern rock album just like many others 😄 (random example: chiffre - wasteland)

The reception to the new record reminds me of when both Back Burner and Wasted Youth came out. I prefer this one over those 2 personally

I dunno, "relentless" seems to be a superior record at least thanks to the better mixing of melodies and chugs, "changes" didn't have the formula figured out back then, even though it codified this particular style of metalcore mixed with melodic hardcore for the bands to come

I mean yeah, I even loved Back Burner. But there was definitely heaps of discourse in those years when Dylan came on and they went a bit more sugary. Just saying though, even that was way less of a departure from their origins than what they've been putting out the last few years. I'd even take Wasted Youth over their latest output.

haha I remember people shitting on "wasted youth" for being too poppy, but in retrospect it's a damn solid record. then again, back when Chad returned to the band and "heavy hearts" came out, everyone thought that they're back on the changes/relentless levels of heaviness, but now they've just retreaded the same path of "mellowing out", so to say, just like they first did with Dylan, lol; btw, "back burner" is very good too, a fine mix of metalcore energy from "relentless" and anthemic catchiness of "wasted youth"

Yeah man i remember that too, people were shitting on Dylan and Tom Denney 24/7 and put them in the balance with The Ghost Inside and how much of a “better band” they were. Fun times, i was 15-16 back then. I still listen to these albums, but i prefer this one. Much more organic and better quality and clean singing isn’t as forced as on those albums

Disagree about Bury Tomorrow, I think they’re still great even with the new vocalist

Listening to new single for the first time as I type. In disbelief this is the same band. Was hoping it wasn't ugh. Wouldn't be bad if it was a new band or side project I guess, but dang. Not much I've found sounds like their Changes days... a shame even they couldn't keep that sound evolving for the better.

I saw them play the whole Changes album last night and it was fucking amazing. Can't wait to see MyChildren MyBride do the same with their 2008 album.

I'd say Six is their best all-around album, while Heavy Hearts aren't that much worse with couple of stand out song, other albums on the other hand are not even worth mentioning.

I never really cared much about these guys, I thought Heavy Hearts was the only decent thing they'd put out, only liked a couple of the songs on it. And the three albums with Dylan were fairly dismal. But hot DAMN the new album is good. It's the perfect evolution of their sound, and one of the best albums so far this year. It's like old FTFD, Sempiternal era BMTH, Erra and Sworn In all had an orgy and out came this beautiful creation. I never expected for these guys to put out something this good. Chad's vocals are greatly improved, glad to see him exploring his range and the new guy doing the cleans has a beautiful voice. My favorite tracks were The Undertow, Hypnosis, Two Graves, Unstoppable, Burning Season and Forever. If they continue to put out music this good, they'll have converted me one hundred percent.

I think he meant to say "the new guy doing cleans", with new refering to the fact that the person who does them is a new one as opposed to earlier, not new referring to the status of the member with respect to the band. That was possibly the most twisted way to say what I think, but I'm not intelligent enough to put complex thoughts such that they sound simple.
