I liked this album when it came out, but not so much anymore. It's pastiche or homage to Demanufacture and doesn't cut it for me. It's like a neutered Fear Factory. All I can say is it's better than Digimortal, Transgression, and is as good as The Industrialist. Out of the 10 albums released, it's either the 6th or 7th best album. It's a bummer Raymond doesn't get along with Dino...

Took me YEEEEAAAAAARRRRRSSSSS for this one to really grow on me, but I dig the fuck out of it now. Glad to own the Japanese pressing.

Nobody who played on this album is a member Fear Factory anymore. Sad. Probably the best post-Roadrunner album of theirs. Mechanize is close though.

"...but it lacks severely in atmosphere." What? I'm sure you haven't listened to the album at all or just don't hear the amazing synth textures beneath the songs which create a very fresh and soaring atmosphere. It's not brooding or dark like on Obsolete or Demanufacture but it does not even try to be like that. It's entirely different.

It's a good album, but lacks severely in atmosphere. The reason both Demanufacture and Obsolete were such incredible albums was that they balanced the violent attack with an ambience that made the albums work on a deeper level.

Second best album of theirs. If Transgression would not be such a flop, I think we would still have this lineup. Raymond Herrera is the best songwriter of FF imo judging by this album. If Dino hadn't left the band they would make even better songs than on Archetype and then the album that would result would be their best I think, even better than Demanufacture. They can still reunite.

I was a little worried about this album because Dino wasn't on it, but then I finally got around to listening to it, and WOW, their best album behind Demanufacture, but then again, Demanufacture is literally my favorite album ever lol

"First 6 songs are perfect, but then.." - then is Bite The Hand That Bleeds, Default Judgement, Human Shields, wonderful cover of Nirvana's School... it's a perfect album as a wholeness, maybe the first part of it is better, really, but I think every song is captivating. It's definitely a highlight in their discography.

I should listen to this album more often, not their best one (SOANM, Demanu, Obsolete and Concrete can't be beaten) but it's an great album nonentheless

Perfection from start to finish. This album proves that FF is even better without Dino. =)

Even with the latest all-out assault that is Mechanize, this is still one of their better albums.
