"The (After) Life of the Party" is the 9th track on Fall Out Boy's 2007 album Infinity on High.
The title of the song is a reference to the mess that is left once a party is over – if the most likable person is the life of the party, then the one falling apart represents its afterlife. This is in contrast to the general idea that the afterlife is supposed to be pleasant and free from strife.
Musically, it is slower than most Fall Out Boy songs and features simpler instrumentation.
This song was part of the setlist during tours supporting the album, but has since been retired.
