this album changed the way i listened to music when i was a teenager. i was used to compartmentalizing everything, separating metal/punk/pop/electronic. and then this record mashed everything without giving a single fuck. 'evidence' segueing into 'gentle art' is brilliant.

Depends on the listening environment mostly. Then it depends on how much dynamic range you can sense. 320 is indistinguishable most of the time but with bandwidth and storage so easy, why would you throw bits of your music away? But most of all it depends if you take my opinion seriously lol it's all subjective 🎶

I have the '95 release on vinyl and, next to being a really great album, the sound is excellent. Pretty rare to hear such good pressings from that time.

Would you happen to have the Music on Vinyl version too? Wondering which one sounds better, as 90s vinyl is indeed a mixed bag.

No, I've got the Slash Records release from '95. https://www.discogs.com/release/1891944-Faith-No-More-King-For-A-Day-Fool-For-A-Lifetime

Then you must be hearing impaired or going deaf or maybe you don't know shit about the basic caracteristics of sound & the qualities of sound recordings. Or maybe you listen to music through a crappy stereo, dunno... The production is COMPRESSED. It's NOT DISTORTED in any way, shape or form. And I'm refering to original first press cd & vinyl too, bought both when the record came out, back in 1995.

The band and producer decided to switch it up and went for trying to produce a more raw sound than the atmospheric one of their previous albums.

Got a CD of the 2016 deluxe remastered edition on eBay for $7.99 (which is virtually half of iTunes' $14.99 price) Happy about that... won it on 3/25 & it arrived 3 days later 3/28 (today) which is the 23-year-anniversary of the album's release. Quite a coincidence..

Awesome album. Not the most accessible one by FNM, but well worth listening to.

So many great songs on this one. There's something for fans of just about every subgenre of rock music. Personal favorites for me: Ricochet, Just a Man, King for a Day, Evidence. "Just a Man" may in fact be my choice for best Faith No More song.

That's a good one too! Wild vocal performances on that one, Ugly in the Morning and Cuckoo for Caca.

Together with ANGEL DUST my favourite FNM album. Educational material for all Alternative Rock Bands since the mid Nineties.

I have "King For A Day" tattooed on one arm and "Fool For A Lifetime" on the other. And to think this isn't even my favorite FNM album. Still, absolutely fucking killer

It lacks the funkiness of Angel Dust and The Real Thing, but it's still a damn good release. [2] Wasn't disappointed at all.

I love Patton's voice on this record, sounds so sexy and seductive.. and in the same time so angry
