  • Founded In

    Trondheim, Sør-Trøndelag, Norway

Everfear was a post-hardcore/metalcore band from Trondheim, Norway. The band was active from 2008 until 2010.

The whole thing escalated out of proportion when a side project between local bands in Trondheim, Norway was formed in 2008 to play harder and more experimental music. The result became Everfear; an explosive band, which’s only goal is to play the music they wanted without being influenced by purist standards of genres or peoples opinions. Their sound is based on and , but always with a constant experimentation with rhythm and tempo changes and a presence of 90’s club-music elements.

The band have always been a quartet, and started out with Frode Frengen (Vocals / Programming), Bjørnar Bach Thorgaard (Guitar / Vocals / Programming), Kjetil Nordli Bauck (Bass) and Bjørn Holst Pettersen (Drums). Kjetil left Everfear shortly after the bands inception, and the band took a leave of absence while writing new material. In 2009 Mats Strømmen Abelsen became the official bass-player for the band. After playing shows around the country Bjørn left the band in early 2010 to take care of his private life. Everfear spent about 4 months preparing and recording new songs. By the end of april 2010 Emil Basmo Dreier joined the ranks as their new official drummer.

Everfear has ever since its inception been giving everything for their audience wherever they’ve travelled and have shared stage with the likes of Benea Reach, EmergentSea and Dakari. After releasing a self produced demo (living room sessions), and gotten a song on the Norwegian Wood Vol. 7 Compilation, the band finally released their debut EP lets call this a long shot. Shortly thereafter another track was released on Trøndercore Records Metal Sampler Vol. 2, containing tracks from Keep of Kalessin, Torch and Manifest amongst others. They released their final EP called Rorschach in september 2010, which was their darkest release up to date (dealing with misanthropic an apocalyptic themes).

In November 2010 Everfear announced that they were splitting up.
