Toronto based Everest went largely unnoticed among the larger record buying public, but for connoisseurs of pomp and the commercial side of progressive rock, both Everest albums ("Everest"-1984 & "One Step Away"-1985) are a joy to hear, especially for fans of Saga. The bonus instrumental track on the debut's reissue Don't Know What To Do was mixed by Geddy Lee (Rush) and the song later appeared as a vocal version on the now legendary AOR compilation Hot Night In The City.

Russ and Jason stopped by Amoeba Music Hollywood. Check out what they did. It's a good clip! http://www.amoeba.com/whats-in-my-bag/index.html#/detail/2011-06-23_everest

I've only listened to the first 5 songs from their debut-album and it might become a favorite of 2009 :) I think we should vote to change the artist-picture here ;)

Super solid openers for Neil Young & Death Cab. Went to work, found their CD for $10, bought it. Mighty impressed. They're even better in the studio.

I just saw Everest open before Death Cab For Cutie and Neil Young tonight. Great performance!
