I like that album. Not their best but I enjoy the songs and I caught myself with listening to them more than others lately.

This album is one big disappointment. The title track is the only one that really feels like an ensiferum song, pohjola is kind of decent, but the rest is just... ughh.. I really hope they'll write some better stuff in the future. They've been getting progressively worse if you ask me. The first 3 albums were really good, but each slightly less so than the one that came before it. From Afar was a step in a weird direction with al the (imo unnecessarily) symphonic stuff added to it. It wasn't bad. But the filmmusic-esque symphonies definitely felt like they didn't belong there (I know most don't agree with me on that). I've heard people call Ensiferum Hollywood Vikings for some time, and considering their last 2 albums, I don't necessarily disagree with that notion anymore.

Great album, more mature arrangments, more slow tracks, besides folk instruments they used orchestrations and choirs and some intruments which comes from the world of progressive rock like moog and organs.I really enjoy this album and I will put Ensiferum among my favourite metal bands.

There are some highlights, Pohjola is really good, I also like Retribution Shall Be Mine and In My Sword I Trust too. But other songs aren't good to be honest, clean vocals are mostly horrible and Last Breath is probably their worst song ever.

After a few listens I still think this is a really really mediocre album. The thing that bugs me the most is the weak sound, especially on the guitars, and bad clean vocals. In My Sword I Trust is quite good, and Vesa-Matti Loiri's spoken parts in Pohjola makes the song worth listening, but that's about it. Very dissapointing, considering the fact that all their previous albums have been very good.

This album is different, it isn't bad though. They stripped a lot of the orchestration and went for a more atmospheric approach. Still isn't close to being their best, but it isn't a bad album, per se.

I was kinda disappointed about the album at first, but now I realize some songs are actually pretty good. There are many acoustic parts and I guess it wasn't really expected. The album is just different from the previous ones. Get over it, kullinimijät.

"Honestly looks like a folk deathcore album cover" I'm not familiar with folk deathcore album covers, let alone even aware of existent bands of the style.

Retribution Shall Be Mine is one of the lesser songs on the album in my opinion. (2) Fairly generic power metal comes to mind upon hearing that track.

"Unsung Heroes" is sort of different and doesn't really sweep me off my feet. Though, it's a good and solid album. And the female singer's voice is great.
