Enation is a 3-piece alternative rock band formed by brothers Jonathan and Richard Jackson. Originally from the Northwest, the Jackson brothers moved to Los Angeles in their early teenage years and began cutting their teeth on the Sunset Strip - playing iconic venues like The Whiskey A-Go-Go, The Roxy and The Viper Room before they were old enough to indulge in the free drinks offered to the other acts on the bill. In Los Angeles they became friends with their now enigmatic bassist Jonathan 'Moon' Thatcher, who years later joined the band.
Enation released an independent debut album, 'Identity Theft', in 2004, basing their sound on the anthemic pop template of bands like U2 and Radiohead, with Jonathan writing most of the material and serving as the frontman. Two more independent albums followed in 2007, 'Soul & Story, Vol. 1' and 'Where the Fire Starts'. Their fourth studio album. 'World in Flight', arrived a year later in 2008. In 2010, they put out the live album 'The Future Is a Memory: Live from the Northwest', followed by their fifth studio effort, 'My Ancient Rebellion' in 2011. With their singer landing a recurring role on the ABC musical drama Nashville in 2012, the band released 2014's 'Radio Cinematic' under Loud-N-Proud Records as Jonathan Jackson + Enation. The stormier, Greg Archilla co-produced 'Anthems for the Apocalypse' arrived during the summer of 2017 under Hilasterion Records. Their most recent studio album, 'Ultraviolet Empire' has just been released in 2022.
