There's something special here, it's probably my favorite Elliott Smith album. Something about the atmosphere, progression track-by-track, sound quality, mix of electric and acoustic guitar, use of a more raw language on the lyrics, a sense of particularity and autonomy in the themes of the tracks (a chronicle in Condor Ave, the visions of his stepfather in the title track, alienation and isolation in No Name#1, the incredible instrumental track that closes the album, etc). The self-titled album is more centered on a more homogeneous theme in general, and as much as I love Either/Or, the fact that I listened to this 3 times in a row without a break means something; I don't get tired of these more personal approaches.

I think this album is one of the angriest albums I've ever heard which is something you wouldn't associate with the sound of this album or Elliott Smith as a whole. I listen to lots of extreme metal but I still haven't heard many songs as filled with spite and hatred like "Roman Candle" or the part in "Condor Ave" where he says "you can do whatever the hell you want to, na nana nana na". He expresses anger in the mellowest and most beautiful way possible and it's very apparent when you relisten to this album alot.

Falando em Heatmiser, o som do Dead Air me arrepia!

Todas as No Names são fodas kkkkk A Minha favorita é a #5 do Either/Or e a tua?

This album is so awesome and I love it so much that I can barely listen to the rest of his stuff. Not that I think the other albums are bad, is just that every time anything by Elliott starts playing I immediately remember of this and just need to listen to it. Something about this album make it sounds so magical.

I don't know why anybody would want to take away the magic of the lo-fi production by remastering it.

This album has basically gotten me through my break-up... I honestly don't know where I would have ended up without it.
