Something tells me that they didn’t think too long about what genre they would play their music.

That’s kinda true. As someone who started in the Smiths fan base i can say Electronic is not talked about as much as they should be over “there.” Maybe that just means PSB fans have a more rounded palette - i say with an incredibly biased opinion lol

Maybe, lmao, but I think the reason is rather obvious. People follow what Morrissey did after the Smiths instead of Johnny much, and to be fair, Johnny himself did confess that in the early 90s and days of Electronic, where he said something roughly along the lines of 'I'll never be as Popular as Morrissey' and he's accepted that. And in most cases, that's the norm, the Lead Singer is usually more *interesting* or a personality and people usually go after them than anyone else. And Morrissey acknowledged that too when he said that SIngers have almost always been the faces of bands and its not like he can step away and act like he's *not* the singer of the Smiths (in reference to when Johnny Marr was mad when an Italian show listed the band as Morrissey & The Smiths with his Face in 1986/87). I still think Electronic is such a great thing though and under the radar. as Johnny said, I too wish there was another album, because according to Johnny, the 2 spent all day long in studio

The first album reminds me of Pet Shop Boys. Besides, Neil Tennant wrote songs for the project and sung in some tracks. Still, they have so much in common !

tripliks - cuz long long time ago, on a radio station far far away (in Houston, TX), "Getting Away With It" was played on the radio a LOT & "Idiot Country" was not. They also played "Disappointed" quite a bit as well. I had never heard "Get the Message" until i saw the video in the late 90s on MTV2. Long gone are those days where you could hear good stuff on the radio & a video station.....

"Time Can Tell" is one of the most gorgeous album closer's ever!, from Raise The Pressure, their best album in my opinion.
