[Eels re-listen after years] Pretty much like Hombre Lobo, I'm not a big fan of Eels sounding like this, with too much noisy guitars and screams. I do think this album is very cohesive and overall solid, but it gets kinda repetitive, and I'm 90% sure I feel about it the exact same way I used to feel back in the day. Some masterpieces mixed with just okay songs and too much noise (which is funny for me to say since I'm a shoegazer and Sledge/Death Metal fan). Favs: Bus Stop Boxer, Fresh Feeling, Woman Driving Man Sleeping, That's Not Really Funny.

I think Last.FM data can be trusted, PaulDurman. There are just so many ways to spell the song(s): "Souljacker, Pt. 1", "Souljacker Part I", "Souljacker Pt. I" and so on. And "Bus Stop Boxer" is spelled "Buss Stop Boxer" on this page, which is incorrect according to all sources I am aware of.

All four of the songs on the "Rotten World Blues" bonus disc should've been on the album proper.

How come Souljacker Pt 1 - surely one of the strongest tracks on the album - apparently has fewer listeners than just about any other track, including the (much weaker) Souljacker Pt 2? More evidence, I think, that a lot of Last.fm's data is not to be trusted. I find it similarly unlikely that Bus Stop Boxer would have very significantly fewer listens than the rest of the album. But it's a great album, people....

my first Eels record. the beginning of an intense relationship ... complete with great sex, horrifying fights, moments of madness, brutal backstabbings and sunsets of bliss and pure love.

I don't know if newer copies still have it, but when this first came out it came with an EP featuring the songs "Rotten World Blues", "Jehovah's Witness", "I Write The B-Sides", and "Hidden Track" (which actually wasn't hidden at all, that's the real title of the song). The database probably had that bonus disc labeled as "disc 2".
