Siddharth A.K.A Dub Sharma is a Composer/Producer from Chandigarh, India. Known for his Sound Design skills, Siddharth composes music that falls into Electronica, IDM and Electroacoustic music.
Dub Sharma’s DJ sets are very experimental in nature and cover genres like Drum and Bass, Dubstep, IDM, Hip Hop and Ambient.
It all started in 2008 when Siddharth started working with local radio stations and broadcasting academies as a voice over artist and radio jingle producer. He then moved to Mumbai in 2009 for some professional education in Audio. He produced his debut single Raaz (featuring Jeetu Ramachandran) in 2010 which got picked up by Bobby Friction and got featured on The Friction Show on the BBC Asian Network (UK). Bobby referred this track to The Tom Robinson Show on BBC 6 Music soon after. Raaz was then released on Monkey Dub Recording, Canada (Record Label) and went on to be in the list of ‘Best of 2010 on BBC Asian Network’. Dub Sharma was formally introduced on the BBC Radio under the BBC Introducing Initiative the same year (2010).
Dub Sharma is known for his commercially successful songs produced on Gangs of Wasseypur and Intel MTV Sound Trippin Season 1. Tung Tung featuring Nooran Sisters (Produced by Siddharth) proved to be a hit with over 7 lakh views on YouTube (as of Jan 2, 2014). Dil Chhi Chha Ledar from Gangs of Wasseypur again did well with over 20 lakh views on Youtube (as of Jan 2, 2004). He recently re-fixed A R Rahman’s Roobaroo to make The Micromax Unite Anthem that featured Raghu Dixit, Benny Dayal, Neeti Mohan, Apeksha Dandekar, Shruti Pathak, Sanam Puri, Voctronica, Swaroop Khan, Kamal Khan and Brodha V. This anthem hit a million views on youtube in 5 days from release.
