"Houdini" is a song by English and Albanian singer Dua Lipa, released on 9 November 2023 as the lead single from her third studio album, Radical Optimism. Earlier in 2023, Lipa confirmed that her upcoming third studio album would be released sometime in 2024 with a new sound that sees her moving away from disco, embracing more of 1970s-era psychedelia. After having deleted all of her Instagram posts on 12 October 2023, Dua Lipa posted a picture of herself in red hair captioned "miss me?". Two weeks later, on 27 October, she shared a close-up picture of a key between her teeth, accompanied by the phrase "catch me or I go". Lipa posted a teaser of the song on her social media on 31 October 2023, hinting at the song title in the post. A rearranged combination of numbers would spell out the title "Houdini", named after the illusionist who passed away on 31 October 1926. Fans of Lipa also figured out parallels to a song of the same title (1982) by British singer Kate Bush, whose album cover also references Houdini by presenting a key in her mouth.
