Background and Release:
On February 3, the girl group released the teaser schedule for their first studio album “Dystopia: The Tree of Language.”
Dreamcatcher has revealed a “lyrics spoiler” video for their comeback with “Scream”!
The lyrics written in the video are, “I don’t know a single thing, who this is for, someone tell me now, in the rising smoke now. Please, I don’t want to scream.”
“Dystopia : The Tree of Language” begins a new story after DreamCatcher’s previous “nightmare” series. “Scream” was composed and written by LEEZ and Ollounder, and Kim Bo Eun also took part in writing the lyrics. The track combines rock with electronica, widening DreamCatcher’s range of musical genres. The song is motivated by the practice of witch hunts during the medieval period, and the scream before the chorus accentuates this motif.

Trivia:
- Dreamcatcher member, Handong, was not present for promotions due to taking part in the Chinese survival show Youth With You (Season 2). This was also Dreamcatcher's first time performing as a six-member group.
- Writing for Allkpop, Eric Wirsing remarked: "Despite all these tracks, there is very little filler. Every song is pretty much classic Dreamcatcher in one way or another. While there are some deviations from the formula, they still killed it."
