Like with most of DT songs, this is just perfect once you remove lyrics/vocals.

The imagery that goes through my head while listening to this is incredible. The entire song paints a very vivid picture. I love it.

I really like the lyrics on this one. It's quite refreshing to have an epic building up to narrate a disturbing event, to just end up being a normal story, like something you'd tell to your friends or family. It's those songs that make me realize how unique Dream Theater is when it comes to storytelling in music.

I agree with everything everyone has said below me. This song was awesome the first time I heard it, and somehow just keeps getting better. This is apical Dream Theater, doing what they do best, and best of all, they do it in spades. That said ... I wish they had written a better pre-chorus. It's a bit jarring and doesn't quite gel with the sumptuous melody that surrounds it. That said, given the story behind the song, maybe that was the point?

Probably one of the best songs ever. Just listen to the acoustic part when LaBrie starts to sing. Epic and beautiful.
