nice attempt. pity that james labrie kills the whole song. cant understand how he dares to try to sing what dio sang. the rest is technically fine, like usual for dream theater. i miss the heart and feeling though.

Until I can hear it live, I won't dare to say LaBrie has a better voice for this song. Instrumentally, it's awesome, though the continuum is quite annoying.

Came here to say what d00n3y already said. I was expecting this to be a huge let-down because I just don't see LaBrie singing a good Dio. Turned out pretty good though.

this is my favourite song off the new album, i wish they still wrote their own songs like this. it's also depressing that while labrie can still sing so well, portnoy and petrucci keep writing such basic stuff for him to sing. also, i think labrie's best (recorded) performance is actually the killing hand from live at the marquee.

Vocally the best performance I've heard out of Labrie, in my opinion. But it could be better, I'm sure. Dio's voice > Labrie's voice in the end.

the modern production really makes this version excellent. Of course, can't match the impact the original had when I first heard it!

@jamierobertward: Portnoy IS dream theater, if he leave there is nothing left. and i too hate that heavier "badass" direction.

LaBrie doesn't sing like this because Portnoy is obviously wanting to go in a "heavier" direction which is totally retarded. If I was James I'd tell him to take away half his kit since that's what the rest of the band are essentially doing to their vocalist.
