Biography
Dr. Peacock, real name Steve Dekker, born in 1988, is a Frenchcore producer and DJ . He is also the owner of the Peacock Records label.
He has participated in the Frenchcore scenes of festivals like Vive la Frenchcore, Syndicate, Decibel Outdoor, Defqon.1, Masters of Hardcore, Pandemonium and more than 300 parties and events since 2010. He is recognized as one of the greats of in genre and helped pioner it to the masses.
During an interview with Alive at Night in 2016, Dekker explains that he was introduced to hardcore techno by listening to old Thunderdome compilations at the age of nine. He then began to produce mainstream hardcore, while the genre still developed in the mid 2000. He trained in the Frenchcore genre by buying vinyls from The Speed Freak, The Sickest Squad, Psiko, and DJ Radium 4, the latter having attracted him thanks to reversed bass-kicks, which reminded him of the early hardstyle genre, but faster and more distorted at the end of each kick. He started mixing at the age of 12, then organized a few evenings in Limmen, and at the Innercore club in Castricum .
