Diskopunk is a Stockholm based disco and punk band consisting of Antonio America, Joakim Rydén, Harald Forsmark, William Collins and Henrik Ulvenäs.
The group describes Its sound as a drug-infused ABBA; Grandiose and chord-driven pop songs punched up with beat-driven post-punk elements like obnoxious cowbells, full on guitar riffs and the extensive use of percussion. Combining glossy disco aesthetics with the dirty raggedy underground-scene puts Diskopunk in the midst of opposing worlds, or in the midst of a perfect one.
In 2019 they released a self titled EP alongside a mini documentary called "Diskopunk – Amplified or not".
When Antonio was asked about his choice of artist name he replied that he got it from a horse racing website, saying that "when looking for a good artist name, just look up what they call the horses. They have the best names."
