I like something like "Meadow" for the new version of Stone Temple Pilots, so please... sometimes the new stuff is quality, other times it's not. With this stuff it's not... your standards feel low to me

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BE6Yq9dCmk&list=PLopDw6nwe3skU5BCeKpJbRsfs2QPbjImG&index=2 Telling me this JR Richards single from his first solo record isn't better than anything on "Dishwalla" Juniper Rd. I just don't think it's close... Dean DiLeo has gone on record as saying that a great frontman can carry an average band... but a great band cannot carry an average frontman & I truly believe that to be the case of the current state of Dishwalla

I am really disagree, Jupiners Road is not a remarkable album... Best work of the band still Pet Your Friends

Basically J.R. Richards always was to Dishwalla what someone like Ed Roland is to Collective Soul... primary writer on just about everything. He's genuinely such a sweet guy that he never was looking to have his name all over the song-writing credits... but Honore et Amore & A Beautiful End blow away lousy-ass Juniper Road. Them playing music that at the end of the day doesn't sound like Dishwalla is just a way of trying to milk die-hard fans & basically take money from people who maybe still think they're seeing the iconic original lead singer. He was the brains, talent & everything behind the band

Not totally... Mate, Rodney Browning, George Pendergast, Scot Alexander... also did important contributions to the song writing... After second album the creative center was in JR. But before it the band members all did contributions. But yeah, JR vocals is amazing and not easy to equalize.

The latest track the remaining members are trying to pass off as Dishwalla is pretty lousy I must say...

And You Think You Know What Life's About is probably my favorite (shouldn't be lowest of the 4 JR records...)

It doesn't necessarily mean they're bad. There are several bands with tremendous talent who have never had any hits.

Hey, I just meant that the term "one-hit wonder" itself implies some kind of negative connotation, like the band was able to write only one decent song which became a hit, and the other stuff of theirs is far from good. Can't say for sure, but that's the way most people think, I guess. Yeah, they weren't the "kings of 90's", that's true, but they don't deserve to be called a one-hit wonder in the common sense of the word - that's my point.

"Pet Your Friends is the debut album by American alternative rock band Dishwalla. It was released in 1995 on A&M Records. The album produced the hit single "Counting Blue Cars" (the third single off the album and only one to gain widespread success), which was a Top 40 favorite. However, the song also caused the group to gain somewhat of a one-hit wonder status because of it." :|

So sad that they and so many other pop-rock bands from 90's perished in the great Dishwallocaust of 1997.

Candleburn might be one of the most beautifully written songs I have ever heard
