I'm thinking the sax isn't a sample at all. Digable Planets had a few session musicians contribute to the making of Blowout Comb. But I love it when the sax comes back in as Butterfly spits his second verse. Smooth!

"That's right- I'm maken' bacon, still sayin' wa ah salaam ah lakum..." No one can top this production. And, no- I have not the faintest what the horn sample is... It's unlisted (unlike every other track) on wiki... Sounds like Coltrane?maybe- it has that tensile, bright, fluidity that characterizes much of JC- when you hear him, you know him. But honestly- I dunno...
