I remember when they were a new band back in the 2000's. Amazing that they've been around for 20 years! Didn't get into them back then, but I have checked them out in recent times. They're very good.

The new album is okay and sadly that's the most you can expect from this band nowadays.

Hell yeah! Now all we need is John and Jeff back as well, although Alex Lee is a great guitar player. But I miss the classic DD band and sound. But I guess John will never leave Bad Wolves to come back working for Dez and create magic again.

Aye 100%! 'tis a shame cus I can't stand Bad Wolves. At least Tommy Vext isn't in the band but still, just doesn't compare to Fury of Our Makers Hand, or even close to those first three albums. Unlikely but I wouldn't complain if Marc Rizzo ever came into the fold. Ah well a mans allowed to dream

The first show I ever went too was In Flames/Trivium/Zao/Devildriver. The whole floor erupted into a pit when these guys played, and I was there getting tossed around falling and having the time of my life. End of the Line/Hold Back the day will always hold a place on my metal playlist.

The new album is...well it is I guess. The last album I enjoyed was Beast which managed to up the ante after PFV, but then they went in a direction that lacked all the vigor, ferocity and brutal catchiness of their former glorious days. John's and Jeff's departure was the final nail in the coffin. Everything thereafter is bland as hell. Plodding along at midtempo with no thrills. Too bad.

It's quite mid-tempo and no surprises (except Wishing) but overall it's quite nice.

I don't know what they have with these "Volumes", like, it's second "Volume I" in a row, and I don't know if I should expect any continuation or what? But besides that - new album is much, much better than Outlaws in the End. Fast, melodic, twisted in some parts. Great to see them coming back to former glory.

Dez has talked about this pretty much ever since TNO. I think the initial grand plans were two "outlaw country cover albums", a double album and another stand-alone record all released pretty much in the next 5-6 years or so from 2016. Obviously that didn't happen, but they're still slowly on track I suppose. However, I recently saw Dez saying that Outlaws 2 is "years away", but I think Demons 2 is still due in a year or two, possibly already recorded. I agree though, Demons is way better than Outlaws. Stick to originals with a cover or two.

It's been downhill since Pray For Villains. I liked the cover album though. Apparently quite many hated it.

First time I'm listening to this guys in like, a decade, and it probably helps that I'm pretty drunk, but the nostalgia is real. Hold Back the Fucking Day

Say what you will about them, but they are a Helluva lot more consistent than Machine Head.

Agreed. However, Machine Head's consistency is a low bar to measure against, in my opinion.

Просто шикарная группа, очень драйвовая, под стать названию, но не лишенная действительно продуманных и запоминающихся риффов и соло.

Stop giving them grief. They always make good music, fair enough the newest album wasn't their best but they are all talented as heck and I commend them for exploring new avenues like this. They can't stay exactly the same forever guys.

I'm going on a road trip through the outback with "Outlaws 'Til The End" in the CD player. Fuck yeah.

New DevilDriver music will always have a place in my heart! It's different but allow the artist to do something different. And it's the good kind of different - yippie ya yeah!! haha so much hate in here?!? hahaha I never understood why someone takes the time to post how he dislikes something... just negative energy in vain. Skip the stuff you dislike, listen to the stuff you like. Live in love, Bro.

It's the same reason why you posted positive comment - when you like something, you feel such emotion that you need spread positive word. When you are disappointed/disgusted, you feel the same need, just from opposite reason. Also - not every criticism is hating, remember that ;)

I agree. It's not my intent to hate on the new "country" album, but rather look for other fans who feel the same (or the opposite). It's all about the discussion and shared love for a band. I fully support DD doing what they do but I don't have to, or possibly cannot, love everything they put out. For instance, I loved Winter Kills while most others seemed to dislike it. Now it was my turn to dislike something.

I always loved DD's covers in the past but I'm not feeling the new "country" album at all. Some nice guitar stuff but the songs themselves don't really cut it for me. The mixing is also pretty bad. I hope their next album of originals won't sound the same.
