"Everyone's happy to strike for more pay" Not really, mate. It means they have to forgo their wages and could risk being fired (especially in the US where labour laws are just ignored a lot of the time) or not getting those wages back. When they have families that rely on them, it's hard to tell your wife to eat fresh air. So, when people strike - they have no other choice, and they risk a *lot*, that's why it's such a courageous and righteous act. So, love the song, but you're wrong as fuck.
