Memento Mori is Depeche Mode's 15th studio album, released on 24 March 2023, and the first in the lineup of Dave Gahan and Martin Gore following the tragic death of co-founder Andy Fletcher in May 2022. The album was produced by James Ford, with additional production work by Marta Salogni. It was preceded by the lead single "Ghosts Again" on 9 February 2023 and the track "My Cosmos Is Mine" on 9 March, as well as the single "Wagging Tongue" released on 7 July. The album was created during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in themes directly inspired by that period. The album's 12 tracks chart a wide variety of moods and textures.
