Because the band hates it as they were forced to write it to appease the record label

The problem with it is that despite how hard that drop is and how interesting it is hearing Chino rap, the rapping is kinda basic and hearing parts of Pink Maggit which is a top 10 song oat to me at a faster tempo kinda just sucks the soul out of those sections

Honestly, the song is an interesting bit of the band's history. I can totally get why they as artists hate it for its existence, but it's weirdly educational when you look into its backstory. Record execs will always put money before artistic vision and always have.

Also it's totally fine if people like the song. Music is subjective and you're never gonna be in control of how the public takes your work, for better or for worse. The song exists where it does, it's a good thing people get some enjoyment out of it probably (thought I can't speak for the people who actually made it).

Saying /qa/ won is like saying /baph/ won, neither exist anymore so who cares. And soyjakparty is completely different so dont come back with that.

I've always liked it. It's no "Pink Maggit" but if I hear this at a rock club, I'm going nuts.

I've listened to it a few more times now. It's definitely not awful like I previously said but some of the lines still make me wince.

Tbh I always thought the terrible lyrics were on purpose, since they were forced to write a nu-metal tune. Sorta like "you want a dumb song? here's a fucking dumb song".. Or at least, that's how I always interpreted it, because it'd be odd if Chino was capable of writing good lyrics for every song but one, y'know?

Yeah, in the intervening 4 years since I wrote that comment, I discovered that the lyrics were more or less deliberately terrible. Respect tbh

the song is not bad, the reason for its existence is. but it's no big deal, at least they're honest about it. all is forgiven.

Chino never said this song was bad...they were more pissed off at the label for pressuring them into writing a "hit" and there's just a sort of lame record company-forced stigma behind the making of it which people mistake for "omfg they hate this song so much!!!" it wasn't supposed to be on the album and really doesn't feel right on the album, but as a stand alone its still a good song.

@noo_dog any song kicking off the album rather than 'Feiticeira' is a mistake, and I'm so glad I don't own the edition of the album featuring this track. However, it's a good song and I think it's best placed on the 'Back to School' EP.
