As much as I want to like this album, it just never clicks with me like DCFC's earlier releases.

Not their best album. But it does have my two favorite songs by them on it, I Will Possess Your Heart, and Cath...

I listened to this album from start to finish about five or six times in the first week I had it.

Lyrically speaking, this is their weakest effort. In fact, with each successive album, the complexity of their lyrics decreases. That's not really surprising as most artists go through the same thing. What really pisses me off is that Ben said he would like his lyrics to be more literal, and was dismissive of some of his earlier work. I don't think lyrics should be literal and/or banal. If they are, what's the difference between good music and poor writing?

First Death Cab album I listened to. Nowhere near as excellent as Something About Airplanes or We Have The Facts, but still pretty good.

after the disappointment of Plans, this was a really, really pleasant surprise. if i didn't have so much teenage nostalgia for Transatlanticism, it might be my favorite.

I'll never understand why this album got such a weird reception. It's great beginning to end in my opinion. Not a single bad track, a complete album listening experience. Great on headphones and i love the fact it was recorded on analog tape, it gives the music such a warm sound. Surely this has to be considered a modern day classic. It's my favourite DCFC album. It hasn't gotten old for me in nearly 2 years.
