It is sad for me to see a band that was once a monolith in Christian music slowly fade to the background. I know this tends to happen to a lot of bands after they disband, the hype around them disappears, anything revolutionary and new that they did is no longer revolutionary and new so people just don't care as much. Plus with streaming being the main way people listen to music, the newest artists and releases are always pushed to the front of the algorithm generated playlists, you really have to be intentional about how you listen to music to get anything else. I do enjoy Crowder's solo stuff but there is definitely something missing compared to the DC*B. To anyone reading this, check out all the DC*B albums, there are a lot of great songs and interesting compositions in there. Listen to their albums all the way through from front to back. This band is more than the 'How He Loves' cover that seems to be their legacy.

I love the message of "How he Loves me" makes me realize how full of Grace my God is and it points at the fact that without Him I'd be the dust of the Earth.

it's alright. some parts don't fit my tastes at all but some songs are cool. was expecting to like it more because it's the companion to a collision.

I can't help but laugh at the ones who mention "brainwashing". It's my choice to trust in Jesus and believe in Him, no brainwashing involved ;) Free will. It is sad that they are breaking up. But they have families to take care of and a break will help them I think. Some personal time alone with the Lord and their families will do them some good. Don't worry, we still have their awesome music to listen to! XD And hey, at least their not hogging the spotlight and becoming too mainstream like some of these other 'Christian' artists are doing. We ♥ you, DCB!! ♥♥

Good news, guys! They're actually releasing 2 more albums. Their Requiem Mass (working title) and "Oh For Joy", a Christmas album coming out in October. So at least we'll have enough to do us well! And I doubt they're retiring. Feels more like what System of a Down did a few years back: take a break from touring together to work on their own personal stuff, and they'll hopefully get back together after that.

I can see where people can think this is "brainwashing" but speaking as an artist, DCB is simply creating art and conceptual albums that they've obviously thought out. It's just the genre, I mean it's pretty much summed up in "A Collision or (3+4=7)." They do what they do because despite how the elements of worship aren't really there, their music helps us carry the idea. Music to me is the language of the soul, and their music to me is very moving, I can't get enough of it. Doesn't matter whether it's Christian or not, these guys know how to make music.

Their cover of The Transfiguration is almost better than Sufjan's original song

David Crowder proves that no matter how brainwashed and ignorant you are you can still be creative and make decent music.

I can't stand most modern worship music. But I love DC*B! They really are a step above.
