Permanent is the fifth official single from David Cook on his self titled album. It was performed on the finale of the American Idol Season 8 results show. It talks about his brother and his battle with brain cancer. His brother has since died. The song was written by David Cook, Chantal Kreviazuk, and Raine Maida and was released by RCA Records.
All proceeds from iTunes sales of the Idol finale performance of the song will go to ABC2 (Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure).
