I mean you're born in the system, how else are you gonna progress lol you can only progress within the confines of the system you are in. What you said goes for every black rapper that's become successful from rapping, but that doesnt excuse the fact that his family (and many black and ethnic people) are dealt a shit hand due to how the system is. It's still a problem because so many other families are also currently and will continue to be in the same shit Dave's family were in, which leads to them making bad decisions (if restricted to a certain environment and from a young age you are more likely to be more susceptible to do what happens alot in said environment eg gang activity) or just in general struggling. Dave ain't complaining about the fact that the system has fucked black people, he's just pointing out the fact that it has, and if more people know this is the case, hopefully they realise they don't have to remain there and are able to escape it like Dave has.

I understand that, that's why I said lower classes usually have it very bad as alot of them are in awful conditions and are impoverished. But as I said before, who makes up most of the lower class? You really gonna say white or other ethnic groups have it worse than blacks? I ain't saying it's a competition or anything, suffering is suffering but when majority of the demographic is being stigmatized and stereotyped and feared due to what certain groups within the demographic do, it sucks, and this is mainly the case with black people. The way the system set up is deffinetly a major influence on that, you cant say lots of black people are being mischievous because black people are just mischievous, because that's basically racist in itself. Yes I get theres a culture that surrounds it but where did gang activity and all that derive from? Black people wanting to cause some havoc lol?

If you're in poverty you're gonna look for ways to get by and make some money, which is pretty much the crux of all gangs and gang warfare. May not seem it at times but that's really all gangs is, essentially people making money through any means necessary (illegal means) and even if it means killing people. And then obviously you're gonna have to act a certain way to intimidate I guess. Gang activity will always be a thing due to how the system is, if there is a class of people that are always struggling there will always be gangs it's that simple. Ain't saying people themselves arent to blame, but as said in my first response, when you are raised in environment where there is alot of gang activity, you are more likely to succumb to it because it's around you. This goes for anything in which one conforms to majority, that's just human nature lol. Again not saying people themselves arent to blame but the way the system is deffinetly still a major influence.

This is some basic 'you can't argue against the problems with society, you participate in society!' level nonsense and the fact that someone actually came from listening to this with this as the one take they felt like sharing is depressing.

maybe a little early, but here are my initial thoughts: wow, i am very impressed. this album is fantastic, from start the finish. dave doesn't shy away from talking about the more sensitive topics, such as xenophobia, knife crime and poc struggles. the production is superb, and the features compliment the tracks very well (specifically james blake and wizkid). the hooks are catchy, and daves delivery is out of this world. even the single "clash" with stormzy (which i was not a fan of at first) is extremely catchy, and i find myself humming along to the hook subconsciously. i love the samples too, they are beautiful and help perfect each track. after the quality of daves first album, i didn't know if he could replicate the quality, let alone improve on it. dave has a serious future in the rap game, and i hope his audience expands more outside of the uk.
