PSYCHODRAMA is the highly anticipated debut studio album from Streatham, South London MC, Dave, and follows the rapper’s 2017 Game Over EP.
The album’s lead single, “Black,” was released February 21st, 2019. On the same day, Dave officially announced the album through social media. The second single to the album, “Streatham,” was released March 8th, 2019, and the third single “Location” was released June 15th, 2019, with all three songs releasing accompanying music videos as well.
Dave revealed the tracklist to the album on March 3rd, 2019—the project houses features from Burna Boy, J Hus, and Ruelle.
Under the EDITORS' NOTES section on Apple Music, the album is described as a year-long therapy session revolving around Dave’s life:
"Pitched as excerpts from a year-long course of therapy, these 11 songs show the South Londoner examining the human condition and his own complex wiring. Confession and self-reflection may be nothing new in rap, but they’ve rarely been done with such skill and imagination. Dave’s riveting and poetic at all times, documenting his experience as a young British black man and pulling back the curtain on the realities of fame."
The first (start of the session) song is called “Psycho” and the last (end of the session) is called “Drama”. This combines to “Psychodrama”, the name of the album.
