Biography

Danny Leigh is an acoustic singer/songwriter and English Folk artist based in Guildford.
He writes personal songs about romance and love with soulful, rustic, retro and organic qualities. His main musical inspiration come from artists such as; Nick Drake, John Martyn, Leonard Cohen, Damien Rice, Jeff Buckley, Ben Howard and Jose Gonzalez.

After three months of recording Danny Leigh released his debut six track EP, Velvet Eyes on the 17th November 2010 at the Star Inn pub, Guildford. The 2010 30:30 competition gave Danny Leigh the unique opportunity to record one of his tracks (No More Running) at the Round House EMI studios in Chalk Farm with Abbey Road Producer Pete Hutchings. The 30:30 compilation CD was released on the 20th December 2010 at the Old Blue Last, Shoreditch. The following year ( early December 2011) Danny Leigh released a single titled 'Unspoken Words' via www.dannyleigh.bandcamp.com which was recorded at St Saviours Church in Guildford.
