not sure if anyone else has mentioned this before, so apologies if i’m repeating this, but i listened to an episode of the Switched On Pop podcast just now (highly recommend it) where they discussed all 4 Daft Punk albums across 4 episodes. on the episode for Random Access Memories they spoke about how they recorded Giorgio’s speech with 3 different mics: one from the ‘60s, one from the ‘70s, and one from the 2010s (if I remember correctly!) and he spoke into each one in turn as he was recounting the time in life that the microphone was from. i don’t think it seems to do much to the quality of his voice (not to my ears anyway) but it’s a cool little touch/easter egg to this song that i thought i’d share!

I'm surprised not to see anyone highlighting the bass playing in this godly track.

This is so fucking amazing. the song itself is already overwhelming, and it becomes even more important when we realize what a great tribute it is to Giorgio Moroder’s career, and to music in general.

Would've loved to see the Pet Shop Boys being featured on this song as well.
