Seems like there might be new music coming. I just got a mail from their bandcamp account with the word "Wednesday", blood drop (hint at the title?) and a picture (album cover?) of a woman. Maybe another collab with Julie?

False alarm lol It is "just" a new album from Julie herself, no collab, no new CoL album.

I Remember is one of the best songs from the band. From minute one until minute three, which is the calmest part of the song, everything is very dark, introspective, and beautiful. It's for moments like these that I love music, I love Cult Of Luna.

Just saw these guys live: 1) Is Johannes guitar even plugged in lol?..Sometimes it really feel like he just be doing random shit on stage; 2) That moment you realise Magnus all the way in the back with the shaker is what holds this whole band together. wow.

How old were you when you realised the evolution of this band has actually been flawless?

A atmosfera que eles conseguem criar nas passagens mais calmas das canções é incrível.

I want more Julie Christmas, Perturbator, whatever in their songs. I want Chelsea Wolfe like in Converge. Don't care what you want tho, Mariner was such a smash thingy and Final Light was superb.

Yeah, true. It wasn't CoL. But it had a lot of the vibes. I did like the collaborations. However Mariner to me was a CoL album through and through.

I put off listening to these guys for the longest time because of the talks and snippets I'd hear about the monotone screamo vocals. Was a mistake; music is good.

It's all good! Also, a good reminder that I need to give Skinny Puppy another try; the vocals are... something (an aquired taste). :)

Great to see how popular this band has become. I still believe Somewhere Along the Highway is their best work to date.

such bullshit...even though they might sound similar, Isis and Cult of Luna are each a league of their own. if you love one of them, you will probably love the other one as well, that's for sure. there is no need to imagine a rivalry that is non-existent. plus, those rappers are on the wrong playground.

The more I listen to The Long Road North, the more I am starting to think it's their best.

When Vertikal came out I was like "This has to be their best record!" and then A Dawn to Fear came out and I was like "Now this has to be their best yet!" and when The Raging River came out I went "THIS has to be their best yet!" and when The Long Road North came out I was like "Now actually, this has to be their best yet!" and so far all of the records have proven to have inredible staying power and just be absolutely insane. At this point, I don't even want to put my finger on a single record of theirs anymore. I just want to listen to all of them and be really happy that a band as talented as these people exist.

Wonder why people compare The Long Road North with their previous releases - it's very different and enjoyable in an unique manner. Cult of Luna confirm the status of one of the most seminal acts in their genre.

The Long Road North is so far contestant for AOTY. It's too early to say that I know and I've not listened it enough, but I feel it in my gut. Amazing album - as expected.

If TLRN is boring, I'd like to see what is exciting to you. :D It took me a few listens, but I am very, very happy with the album.

Your comment alludes to my main issue with the album. It doesnt really slap on first few listens like their other albums did...I remember hearing Vertikal and Mariner for the first time and thinking - "This is it chief, this is definitely fucking it!!"
