this album, seen by many as a milestone regarding instrumental skills in speed/thrash metal, was recorded at skytrack studio in berlin in 1988. producer was motörhead producer guy bidmeat. musical guest on synthesizers was gary marlowe (later to become a film composer and producer), who had his publishing office and studio right on top of skytrack studio. marlowe, who tried to make his keyboard work as unhearable - yet perceiveable as possible, in order to fit the style of the band without disturbing it, only giving some subtle, ambient strength to certain parts, in an eno-ish way. after the ultra-loud sessions, marlowe recalls to have experienced slight ear problems for some days - on the one ear which was closer to the speakers. this quite describes the dB level which guy bidmeat used to work at. playing with coroner was musically very rewarding though, as marlowe recalls with sympathy for the excellent musicianship experienced.
